Several shuttles run between the parking lots and the terminals, operating out of parking lots 6, 7, and 8. Unfortunately, those shuttles are not currently wheelchair accessible. Fortunately, the cost of parking is standardized across the Port of Los Angeles. Your first hour is free, but each additional hour costs $2.00.There are daily maximums as well, in case you’re leaving a vehicle parked during your cruise.

Several major cruise lines operate from the World Cruise Center in Los Angeles, also known as the Port of Los Angeles. Book parking arrangements in advance, especially during busy travel periods. The harbor is important for businesses and the navy because of its good location and modern facilities.

If you are looking for places to shop for souvenirs or to catch a break for refreshments and a meal, check out the restaurants near the San Pedro cruise terminal. For passenger drop-off, the first hour of parking is free. A courtesy bus to and from the cruise terminal is available, although not wheelchair accessible. Onsite covered and uncovered parking is available at the San Pedro cruise terminal. There are no vehicle height restrictions for parking at the terminal. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is about 20 miles from the Los Angeles cruise port at San Pedro, which is about a 30- to 45-minute drive away.

Entry is free, and so is parking, making this another greatplace for killing a couple of hours before boarding. In 1912, the city invested in dredging the harbor andwidening the main channel. Initially, the port was a site of significant commercialenterprise. Fishing, shipbuilding, and oil building were all among theindustries that operated on or in the harbor. Since the port brought in asignificant amount of income for the city, in addition to generating jobs andattracting people to move to LA, it received significant attention and funding.

In San Pedro, there is a Von's Supermarket at 1221 S Gaffey St (at 13th Ave) and a Ralph's Supermarket further north at 1050 N Western Ave (with a In-n-Out Burger in the same complex). There is an Ocean Liquor Market at 233 N Harbor Blvd across the street from the cruise terminal. In November 2021 CMA-CGM signed an agreement for the acquisition of 90% stake in FMS Terminal (Fenix Marine Services/operated under concession thru 2043) for USD 2,3 billion (EUR 2B). FMS is the Port's 3rd-largest terminal by annual TEU capacity (~2,5 million). LA port district is an independent department of the city's government.

The Long Beach terminal is a short distance from the Port of Los Angeles (about 15 minutes via car). It serves Carnival Cruise Lines, which primarily sails shorter trips to the Mexican Riviera. Located at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro Bay, the terminal is just a 35-minute drive from downtown LA.
